Throughout history numerous plant species have been
the source of food and medicine. “Phyto” comes for the Greek word “phutun” meaning “plants” hence the chemical/nutrient found in plants are called photochemicals or phytonutrients.
A biologic is a medicinal product, that are used as therapeutics to treat diseases.
Biologics are created by biologic processes, rather than being chemically synthesized.
Phyto+biologicals are substances removed from selected plant species which are then used on other plant species to improve their quality of growth and general health.
These substances fall into three general categories:
1) Plant fertilizer
2) Maintaining plant health
3) Soil improvement (plant species such as legumes that generate nitrogen as well as sequester carbon, thereby improving soil nutrients, texture, and water retention).
All of our phyto+biologicals products are focused upon ecologically-appropriate organic farming needs in Haiti. These products are equally appropriate for organic farming anywhere and are both safe for the consumer, as well as, the farm workers.
